+### Setup
+
+1. Install: `apt install mariadb-server`
+1. Run the initial configuration: `mysql_secure_installation`
+    - Set a new MyriaDB root password.
+    - Remove all anmonymous/test stuff.
+    - Disallow remote root login.
+
+### Usage
+
+- Open prompt: `mariadb [-u <user> [-p]]`
+    - The default user is `root`.
+    - The password can be entered interactively by specifying `-p`.
+    - A password is typically not needed.
+- Add new admin user: `GRANT ALL ON *.* TO '<user>'@'127.0.0.1' IDENTIFIED BY '<password>' WITH GRANT OPTION;`
